I wasn't even looking at the bloody screen when I took it for fear that someone would come up, look at me like  :wtf and ask what I was doing taking a picture of a path.
Just proves that you need no skill whatsoever to take a pretty picture these days. However I'll stick to professionals if I want a band shoot or a family portrait!

Not very photo a day at the moment, but I'll be doing the 365 project next year so I'll put those up!

I spent 5 minutes building a lightbox a few days ago just to get a few ideas, worked quite nicely. Next up will be making one a bit bigger so I remove the Star Trek-esque light flare at the corner.

for something that small you'd probably get a better effect just using a piece of paper and lighting it from beneath or behind, using the paper like a scrim to diffuse the light. you'll get a better high key effect too rather than the yellow tones

It was more a trial run to see how well it'd work on a small scale before trying to scale it up.

Landscapes are really not my strong point so I think I'll do a bit of work on that this year, this is from Osmotherley Reservoir earlier today.

I think the only problem with it is the tonality is flat. There's no proper blacks and no proper whites, like its just been desaturated. Try convert using channel mixer and you'll get better results.

Channel Mixer isn't built into Lightroom is it?

If using Lightroom you should have various Pre-sets under develop mimicking the individual filter colours, but there should also be a panel in develop allowing you to manually adjust the mix same as channel mixer.
