PRESENTS

FRIDAY 10TH DECEMBER

...PROUD MARY

Hailing from Manchester but now based in los angeles, Proud Mary are a full band based around a nucleus of paul newsome(guitar)and greg griffin(vocals).
Strong musical influences are Neil Young, Bob Dylan and a 'Sticky Fingers'-era Rolling Stones but - crucially - they also capture the spirit of their contemporaries

Debut album ''Same Old Blues' was recorded at the OASIS studio,Wheeler End.It was produced by Noel Gallagher and was the first release on Gallagher's own Sour Mash record label.
PROUD MARY have toured extensively over the past few years They have headlined gigs in UK+U.S,played festival gigs at DONINGTON,ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL,READING+LEEDS FESTIVAL,T IN THE PARK and also provided support for music legends such as OASIS,NEIL YOUNG,WELLER,STEREOPHONICS,OCEAN COLOUR SCENE,THE BLACK CROWES and more

After a successful 2nd album 'LOVE+LIGHT' Paul and Greg took time out,Paul produced film+ tv scores working with Robert Evans,legendary head of Paramount(GODFATHER,CHINATOWN)' and Elvis Presley backing singers'THE SWEET INSPIRATIONS'.Greg concentrated on a well received acoustic tour .Both recorded solo albums,Electric and Palms +Glass Bottom Boat respectively which were of a more mellow vibe than the Proud Mary releases.

Now back together in the u.k with full electric band for festival+club shows and superb new album'OCEAN PARK' this is a band you have to see live!!!!

"A lesson in songwriting" (Noel Gallagher)

"When Proud Mary let loose some Mancunian sarcasm, they really bite" (Q);

"If you like swaggering scarf-waver tunes with vast choruses and singers who sound like they swallow red-hot pokers, you've found your Holy Grail - it's biologically impossible not to sing along to Time On Your Hands" (The Guardian);

"Raw-throated singer Greg Griffin is a star" (The Mirror);

"Proud Mary are a classic rock band"(caleb followill-kings of leon)

"It's music you imagine could be reverberating around stadiums before too long" (The Times);

"Imagine a bastard son of Bob Dylan fronting the Verve (but with a better slide guitarist) and surely you're already in the shop - great record thingy" (Evening Standard);

"Proud Mary are a big wheel ready to roll!" (Uncut);

"A belting album" (The SUN);

"expertly done" (NME)
