i like the accoustic stage as you arent sat around doing nothing between bands, theres plenty of bars, rides, places to sit, the comedy tent etc to do otherwise

You weren't saying that about the Beatles tribute band!

Probably why you werent on then? Not much point in having the same bands on at each one?

Possibly Ashe, but half the local band lineup was made up of bands that have played the same or more festivals than us. I accept also that our last gig at the georgian might have had a bearing, not many turned up you see but every band has gigs like that, plus the bands playing with us at the georgian gig who also didn't bring too many people all got slots (they all deserved them as well I might add). Maybe they thought that with alot of good new bands on that one band would have to step aside that's fair enough, when we asked for a reason though we weren't really given one.

Anyway I'll drop it now because I just sound bitter when I'm not really, just gutted not to be on this year. Just thought I'd say my piece, maybe someone from TMA can come on and constructivly put me in my place.  ;)

The comedy tent does have a capacity, and its difficult to change this even with standing room. If we make it bigger, we risk losing the atmosphere of the tent.

I do a wash up every year, and looking at relocating the bar maybe to free up a bit more space but at times we had more in the queue than in the tent. We can't go to 800, so they'll always be a queue (most of the time).

Thanks for the nice comments

Unfortunately I could only make it down on the Saturday this year, really wanted to come back to see Mercury Rev on the Sunday, but one of my mates is a dick and lost her keys on the racecourse in york meaning i spent most of Sunday looking for two keys on the biggest bit of open land in York. Gutted as it sounds like the rev were massively on form :(

Quite enjoyed the Saturday, I'd never seen Cattle and Cane before, or even heard of them 'til they did that T in the Park thing. Impressed though, its a very 'now' sound i guess. There was an impressive number of 'other instruments' on the main stage on Saturday which i think is nice to see, relatively few oasis-indie-bollocks too.

Felt pretty safe there this year, the fairground is a bit of a hassle to walk through but it does a great job at getting most of the twats away from the main music bits.  It was a bit annoying to see such a large proportion of the crowd for BSP etc who blatently didn't give a fuck about listening to the music, nature of free events i guess. And athough there was tonnes of security they all seemed pretty useless. Just really rude and pushy whenever i encountered them. we don't expect them to be angels or anything, but they were proper aggro because i had my pass tied to my belt rather than my neck. A simple 'please put that round your neck' rather than yelling in my face some caveman shite would have done.

Anyway, I took my housemate up from York to see it, and she was amazed that we not only get middlesbrough music live, but also stockton fringe for free on our doorstep. the closest we've got to that in York was Slow Club headlining a rather drippy van in parliament square last year.

I was down the Friday with Runwells who played (which I happened to be filming and will be also plugging) and from the other bands I saw that day I'd say it was pretty good overall!
The stage was pretty epic and having the music constantly going with the accoustic stage was a great idea, keeps people alert and that.
