Dermals
« on: March 30, 2008, 06:22:40 pm »

I've had a search and can't find a thread on these, but feel free to tell me off if I missed one  :P

I'm thinking about getting two dermal anchors on my chest, and was wondering if anyone's got any and would like to share their experiences? I'm also wondering about rejection. I used to have a staple bar on my sternum and it rejected from the middle after a few months, which was rather...interesting. So I ended up taking it out. I know that's the norm for surface piercings, but obviously dermal anchoring is different.

Anybody?

Never had them done myself but from what I've been told the rate of rejection is much much lower.

Awesome. I really want a heart shaped dermal unerneath each collarbone :keke: And maybe later getting a jewelled disc none either side of the hearts if they stay put okay.

If I had the money I'd get it done whilst I'm back up here for a few days because Tanya is just amazing. Unfortunately I don't get my loan til the 7th so will probably end up going to Pierced Up in Bristol who are apparently really good according to my housemate  :-\

Damon's given me the email of one of his friends who has some, but does anyone here have any stories/etc?

It costs about 60 up north, when I was looking at getting my anti-eyebrow done Tanya asked if I wanted to do it with dermals instead, 60 a pop.

I'll do it for a tenner.

60 for one?!! The place I looked at in Camden yesterday was 40 for one. It seemed a pretty decent place too.

I'd love Tanya to do them...but 60 is pretty steep  :-\

Haha you can do them if you do some on yourself first :P

This was last year when they'd brought it out, so they'll have probably dropped the price by now :) which place in Camden? Cold Steel?

I'd totally be able to do them on myself. Penknife and some rubbing alcohol is all i need.

Nah it wasn't Cold Steel, I was told to avoid them. I can't remember what it was called, but it was pretty much right next to the Market, where I bought the most awesome dress  ;D (not related, but it IS totally awesome)

This one was called something Eclipse, or Eclipse something. I ended up listening to the small sensible bit of my brain and didn't get them done. But when I get back to Chelt tonight I may pierce my earlobes again  ::)

Anyone got any ideas how much it costs in Metal Guru to have these done? Want some now but won't be able to afford it for a few months, so can start a penny jar up for them or something ;D Would be 100 for what I'm after at Hype, but would rather go to Guru
