Radio Dynamics make a speedy return to the Georgian with their catchy pop rock at its best. The second of our 'Building Bridges' nights and a real star performer hits the Georgian Stage. Kathryn Williams oozes talent - last time she played at the Georgian she had been performing earlier in the evening at the Sage at Gateshead on the bill with Suzanne Vega. Leader of the gospel-pop hit-makers the Christians, Henry Priestman also joins the bill. His debut solo album ‘The Chronicles of Modern Life’ is having massive TV and radio coverage - this evening certainly promises to be one to remember.

Milestones Jazz – Durham County Big Band

The Why and Wherefores

Come and join us at the Georgian for a night of cool contemporary blues and roots from this dynamic five piece band. Take the singer crowned the ‘queen of British blues’, add ‘Cooderish grooves’ from dynamic guitarist, hand the bass lines over to a sousaphone, let loose a truly funky drummer (and occasional didge player) and let a few lap steel lines soar over it all and you have The Why & Wherefores.

Milestones Jazz Workshop

Milestones Jazz workshops are open to any ages and any genres - the aim of 'Milestones' is to encourage aspiring musicians to further their improvisation skills and experience performing with a professional jazz group in a relaxed environment. For this year’s Milestones sessions we will be forming a special ensemble to perform at the Georgian Theatre as part of the Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival Jazz Day on August 2nd. Please email adrian@jazzaction.co.uk with your details if you would like to take part.
Parents and friends are encouraged to attend – Sunday papers and nibbles supplied.

Please note – there will not be a session on June 21st (Fathers Day)

Milestones Jazz – John Warren’s Splinter Group

Formed by highly acclaimed Canadian born composer and arranger John Warren who has long been revered as one of the most original and crafted composers on the British jazz scene, the ‘Splinter Group’ features eight of the regions finest players. Tonight’s concert will feature tracks from Johns recently released album ‘Finally beginning’.
