Fringe Festival 2008
« on: June 27, 2008, 11:01:12 am »

Welcome to the Stockton Fringe Festival 2008  - I've left last year's posts in here so as you can reminisce about last year!

The Fringe just keeps on getting better

This Summer Stockton's Riverside will rock to the sounds of some of the biggest names in UK music. Welsh wizards of psychedelic rock Super Furry Animals, Happy Mondays and Paul Heaton (Beautiful South and Housemartins) will headline this year's Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival (Wednesday 30 th July to Sunday 3rd August) with support from John Power, British Sea Power and Clinic.

Negations are still on going with other outstanding headline acts and other big name supports details to be announced soon.

The quality of the line-up for this year's main stage continues to take the Fringe to a level which keeps it in the top rank of UK Summer Festivals. The Fringe Festival's main stage will once again be on Stockton 's riverside with a site capacity of 10,000. Again the Fringe will include a comedy stage, which proved such huge success when it was introduced last year.

The 2008 event also sees a rare appearance by ex-Love and Money front man James Grant in an intimate show at The Georgian Theatre on Thursday 31 st July part of a five day programme at the legendary venue in the heart of Stockton Cultural Quarter.

All Fringe events are free of charge, including the main music stage and comedy tent.

More announcements on the main stage line-up and other Fringe events will be made as they are confirmed.

Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival is organized by the Tees Music Alliance, with sponsorship and support from Stockton Borough Council and Arts Council England.
