Unless the show is against the law, what right does a judge have to say something like that to the public?

*Shrug* Freedom of speech? The show is fucked up, and he's allowed to criticise someone for exacerbating the situation, anyway.

Every right. Its in a judges remit to explain the actions or motives of a victim/plaintiff, and thats exactly what he/she has done, explained the aggrevation behind the incident.
