Will the Fringe be affected by the smoking ban?
« on: July 01, 2007, 11:15:00 pm »

i know it wont have crossed many peoples mind in regards to Fringe, but i have a feeling many people will be wondering closer to the time.

technically its outside, so i cant see it being enforced except at the comedy tent, although wouldnt it also count as a public venue for the duration?
any one got the official word for this, i havent really been paying attention to the whole debate.

I just asked you this five minutes ago!  :duckpsy

Personally I hope they aren't, for obvious reasons.

but technically, the fence counts as an enclosure
therefore it is an enclosed public space

an enclosed space in terms of the smoking ban is something with more closed, than open.

If you count that as enclosed everywhere in the world counts as everythings technically enclosed in someway.

Samples right, you cant stop people smoking in a field so dont think will affect it at all unless its inside

Well corrected Jamie Sample!

But the rest of you smokers shouldn't think that just because the 'no-smoking in public' doesn't apply that the anti littering laws have been relaxed either.

Anyone caught dropping a tab end can face a hefty fine - if caught by council enforcement teams  :ninja

...so keep the Fringe tidy; use a bin!

P.S aren't The Rivettes too young to smoke??? ;)

yeah, surely enclosed means 'with a roof'? not just somewhere with a fence around it  :duckpsy
