Really good. Jason was on top form last night. Glad to see him back.

Dan Nightingale was a good start to the evening, but not really my soft of humour.

I've heard Barry Dodds' name mentioned on here quite a lot but had never seen him, so was chuffed to see him on the bill. He was really good. A very likeable comic, but not at all how I expected him to be.

Craig Cambell was superb. Not a comic I've heard of before, but certainly a name I'll remember. Masses of energy and really commanding performer. Had me in stitches.

Top marks Pete. When's the next one? Was what Jason was saying about Jason Manford true. That would be pretty awesome.

A couple of negative to add, in the interests of constructive criticism.

Bar staff were next to useless. Suggest amphetamines to speed up service. The main problem was that it made the beer breaks too long.

Minor gripe that the music was pretty loud during the beer break. Probably could have been something to do with being at the front, but it killed off any chance of conversation between acts.

Other than that, I was quite impressed. Didn't expect the crypt to look so full, but it was a decent atmosphere in there. Some good promotion clearly done.

Cheers Luke.

I'll turn the music down next time.

Bar staff...you're not the only one to complain. They took offense at Jason taking the piss and a number of people complained to me about them but there's nothing I can do.

I few minor things need sorting but I thought it went pretty well.

Re: Jason Manford, I've asked him but it's 2 days before he gets wed! I'm just waiting on an answer but I reckon he'll come do it before the end of the year regardless.

Next one is Friday 19th October

I was really impressed with the night as a whole and Craig Cambell was fucking hilarious, one of the best live comedians i've seen.

I'll second everything Luke said, but with one more thing to add...

Whilst they do't wather their beer, it tastes like they dilute it with vinegar  :louafterthecrown

I'll ask for more staff on the bar but to me, they looked like they didn't want to be there.

Hi `all newbie on here just wanted to leave some feedback on opening night at town hall i was presently suprised at the turn out in the crypt i go out all over to see stand up and most ive been to in the boro has been a soldom group of people. It was buzzing the acts and mc were very good craig campbell was a scream seen him on paramount comedy before although he now resembles Earl from "my name is earl".Its a good enough venue and good location theres nothing worse than trying to hear an act in a pub full of people chatting n watching the footie on tv`s.
Regarding the bar i think name problem was they only have one till! when they were ringing in the drinks it was all a muddle  :P .Me and my mate had a decent night well worth the 8 ticket for a good nights entertainment left went for few more jars around town then for a curry rounded my day off nicely.Hope the comedey club keeps the momentem and builds a strong base its what the area needs no more runs out to different cities when this is on your doorstep.
Organiser/s have done a good job of promotion etc i first heard about it on a flyer at worthington comedey tent at the sirf.Right i off to push some zzzzzzzz`s chow.

Craig campbell was awesome, Barry and Jason still on form

I likes the venue and was mint to see so many people.. the bar people really did suck though, makes you wonder how they manage when theres a gig and 4 times as many people go.

Will be coming again next month

yeah it was really good apart from the bar, the prices were outrageous. 3.30 for a pint of 4% woodpecker and black? Fucking hell. you could get 2 in the dickens for that, id say 2ish is a reasonable price but 3 is having your eyes out. 3 pints costs you a tenner! as a result i only had 2 drinks in there and when i went out after i wasnt in the mood which put a dampener on my night!

The acts were class though, i dont think Dan Nightingale got as good a reception as usual as ive seen him at the Dickens and the Arc and he was pretty good both times

Next gig is Friday 19th October with Duncan Oakley, Mick Sergent and one TBC. Jason Cook is your Mc for the night and we'll have 2 tills working on the bar so no queues!

8 in, might do an offer on here...
