I'm trying to source as many local charities as I can, I know of Butterwick and Zoes but are there any others that are very much Teesside based?

Suggestions welcome.

Any chance you can all please find the time to vote for Catch 22 comedy club as the best in the North? The irony is, is that it is by far the best club. It's widely known to be but some gig in Huddersfield that a bunch of kids run playing to themselves and mates will probably win as they have 3,000 mates on FB to vote.

Rant over

If you could also vote for Jason Cook as best MC. Again, he's head and shoulders above the others on the shortlist but what would I know!?!?!

Finally, The Boy With The Tape on His Face is just sublime. He's been playing Stockton Fringe for 2 years now and it's one of the most original heart warming acts you'll ever see. One of his first gigs over in the UK was for me and he stormed it.

So yeah, please vote and maybe post it on your FB (if you have 3,000 mates)

The other forums I use haven't wained in popularity, and everyone on them uses Facebook so I think the issue is more to do with Haxed rather than what other social networking is available.

As stated, there's way too many sections and a 'view active topics' is a popular button to have to save trawling through the boards.

You also need something to add value to the site, and I feel the music/gigs side of the site is the strongest seller so to speak. I'm thinking aloud here...

Why not look to tie in with a local club night, or promoter (TFT, Georgian, Crown, Club Strut, Green Dragon Studios, Arena etc) and run a Battle of the Bands/acoustic night/gig in conjunction with Haxed? The site has to be the point of contact, non of this send a CD in. I presume a lot of bands will have tracks uploaded and you could have a thread on it, vote for the best band to play the gig etc. The supporters would register and vote, hopefully bringing new members to the board helping to build the community back up. It's not like you don't have the contacts/ability to do this.

Does Haxed do any promotion in the schools and colleges?
What about asking the local promoters to advertise* on the boards more?
Competitions - I've done the odd few on here for decent comedy tickets. Again, I know you have the contacts to blag a few freebies here and there.

Just a few ideas.

*I mean as in "The Arena is looking for new local rock bands to play "x" night, please post a link to a track here with your contact details and we'll be in touch"

Finally, I see some people still can't resist a pop at Jamie if he rears his head on here. It's quite sad really.

He'll be back next year. He loved the gig and the curry we went for after!

Last plug for Xmas comedy, all the shows are nearly sold out so if you fancy one of them then get your tickets now. Awesome line ups at all shows, but Glen Wool at Arc will be awesome. He's only in the country for a few months so quite a scoop to get him.

It's nearly sold out, however there's still a few tickets left for Micky Flanagan tonight at The Crypt.

This guy is awesome, one of the funniest comedians on the circuit today a,d a favourite of mine.

Box office 01642 729729, only a tenner

John Bishop extra date on sale, only a few left though.

And, it's The Gong Show at Arc on the 15th Oct. Only 6.50 and we've took what we did at The Dickens and made it better. Best show of the year where anything can happen.

Sarah Millican date added for Middlesbrough Town Hall
Jason Cook tour added for Crypt, 22nd Jan
Xmas shows now on sale or Arc and Crypt - all starting to sell well.

NYE gig added, we're holding it in the Thistle Hotel as the town hall has the Wildcats on.

Teesside University gig starts on 5th October. Cheap beer and cheap tickets on a dead night in M'boro.

The comedy tent does have a capacity, and its difficult to change this even with standing room. If we make it bigger, we risk losing the atmosphere of the tent.

I do a wash up every year, and looking at relocating the bar maybe to free up a bit more space but at times we had more in the queue than in the tent. We can't go to 800, so they'll always be a queue (most of the time).

Thanks for the nice comments

I need to be there for Reg!

Get in early as the Sunday is traditionally the busiest, so with Reg and Sarah on it will be mega busy.

Did anyone else think, during the World Cup Maradonna looked like a South American cattle rustler that accidently raped a gypsy and decided to defend himself in court?
