General / Contacts on iPhone
« on: April 10, 2011, 07:57:56 pm »
I've copied accross 2 sim cards worth of contacts to the iphone. One of which was a back up done by my provider onto a new sim and every number that I've ever had on that 10 year old sim (even though I deleted half of them) is now on my iphone.

Is there any way to access it on a computer and delete them? iTunes? Mobile Me? I can't be arsed doing them individually.

Ta.

« on: February 21, 2011, 08:19:56 pm »
OK I've a .avi video that I recorded on a friends computer I copied it onto a memory stick and then copied onto my hardrive. I am trying to play it with VLC player for the first few plays it was grand but the more I play it the worse it gets with funny noises I've downloaded the latest version but that didn't help.

Its an assignment and I have to critic the contents so any ideas on how to get it to stop sqawking at me?

Thanks in advance

General / Facebook privacy etc

How much does Facebook root about on my computer just as a matter of interest. Usually when you look for friends on your hotmail account they remember the password or at least the people that were found on it that you haven't added.

Now I added outlook today for another job and a 'find your friends on outlook' add appears on the side for the first time ever.

Just curious.

General / New Macbook for my mum
« on: January 20, 2011, 08:30:32 pm »
Ok so I got my Mum to buy a mac book as I thought it might be easier for her to manage.

But as I don't really know much about Mac's is there any settings I should change right off the bat. Like for example on Vista there's the User Account something or other window that pops up everytime you press anything.

Any other safety precautions to make it motherproof?

« on: December 23, 2010, 11:58:08 pm »
Has just started its about 5 episodes in and I'm really liking it. It doesnt quite have the wit between Clarkson, May and Hammond but what it does have is Tanner Foust who is a pro driver which I think adds a bit to testing the cars rather than May being slow, clarkson being pathetic and hammond being the only half decent one. The tasks are ok so far getting quite good.

If you've nought else to watch over Christmas have a look I think its quite good.

General / Adobe
« on: December 06, 2010, 04:50:49 pm »
I'm having problems opening adobe documents online. ie: on the uni journal database I used to be able to click into a pdf and view it online and save it as a pdf.

I know this isn't much to go on. I've updated to adobe reader X in the hope to get it working. NO avail. It says my flash player and java are all updated aswell.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance
