General / Where/Who are you now?
« on: March 17, 2015, 10:49:43 am »
Not expecting any replies to this really, but here goes anyway...

I was Darkshadow/Clint, from York. Used to be a heavy user of haxed back around 2004-2006. Went out in Ziggy's most weeks, Fibbers quite regularly, enjoyed going to gigs and having a good time. Occasionally you'd see me stumbling around Ziggy's with my little camera taking photos. I was more or less attached to the hip of Jojo/Missusjosephine.

I'm still Clint, from York. I'm nearly 28 years old now, I have an awesome 4 year old and a little boy who should be due any day now. I'm engaged to a lovely young lady and I work as an administrator at a health and safety company. I don't really go out much anymore, I seem to have developed social anxiety which makes it hard for me to go out in public unless I'm heavily intoxicated.

I have extremely fond memories of my teenage/haxed years. I met so many awesome people through drunken times and posting on these boards. So, thank you very much to all of you. You were awesome.

Sports / Too Many Games?
« on: June 18, 2008, 04:51:18 pm »
For a while now premiership managers have been complaining about the fact they have too many games to play, so i thought i would compare the leagues.

In the Premiership. Your very own Middlesbrough:

The absolute minimum matches you can play this season is 40 games, assuming you get knocked out in the second round of the League Cup and the third round of the FA Cup.

The maximum matches you can play is 50, assuming you of course get to the finals of both cups.

Compare this to Darlington of the Coca Cola League Two.

The minimum matches they can play this season...is 49. Assuming they too get knocked out of all the cups in the first round.

The maximum matches they can play is a staggering 72, obviously theres no way they will progress to the final of the FA Cup, League Cup, Play-Offs and Johnstones Paint Trophy Cup...but if they did thats how many matches they would have to play.

I guess if theres a point to all this, its should the football league be reducing the amount of games in the lower leagues? As you can see Darlington will only play 1 game less than Middlesbrough if Darlington play the least amount of games and Boro play the most amount. Surely its got to be hard enough for lower league teams to progress in the cups without the huge addition of games.

Games, Computers and Tech Issues / Noisy Computer!
« on: February 03, 2008, 10:58:45 pm »
Right, My computer is working perfectly fine, no problems at all...EXCEPT there seems to be a droning humming noise coming from it all the time recently. I've opened it up and given it a bit of a clean and tried to clean the fan as best i could...but although its quietened a little bit it still gets quite noisy.

Anyone have any reasons why? Is my computer on its last legs?

Sports / Why are English Managers so bad?
« on: December 11, 2007, 08:16:56 pm »
After the disaster that was McClaren, why are some people still saying "We must have an English manager for the england team!"?

Just for the record, the last English manager to win the top division in England (Division 1, Premiership) was Howard Wilkinson with Leeds in 1992. The last English manager to win the FA Cup? Joe Royle with Everton in 1995. The last English manager to win the League Cup (besides Steve McClaren) was Brian Little with Aston Villa in 1996!

So in the last 11 years only 1 English manager has won a major trophy!

At the time of going to writing there are 8 English managers in the premiership, all without a single domestic honour between them. The previous 3 English England managers (Hoddle, Keegan & McClaren) have 1 league cup between them.

So...why are English managers so bad?

Sports / Football = Insane
« on: August 29, 2007, 05:34:57 pm »

This just seems completely insane, both players have JUST moved to the clubs and played 2 or 3 games each for the clubs, and now they are looking to sell them on already? I remember David Unsworth left Everton for West Ham a few years back and then left for Aston Villa within literally days but that was down to the player himself wanting to leave. I wonder what will be going through the players minds?

I'll always love David cos i'm a United fan and he was a fantastic player for us, but i wonder what would have happened if he didnt meet Victoria and was now still just a very good footballer rather than a Global Superstar.

These pictures arent tasteful...He's a football player and yet he's getting his kit off in american magazines, she really has him on a leash.

If there was to be a York Pub Crawl organised, who would actually turn up?

Cos there doesnt seem to be much action on these York boards and thats a damn shame, if we can get more than 10 people together for a piss up then it would be a start.
