Music / Bob Dylan
« on: July 13, 2010, 12:39:01 pm »

NEWPORT, RI—Audience members at the Newport Rock Festival were "outraged" Monday when rock icon Bob Dylan followed up such classic hits as "Like A Rolling Stone" and "Maggie's Farm" with an electronica set composed of atonal drones, hyperactive drumbeats, and the repeated mechanized lyric "Dance to the club life!" "We came here to see the authentic Dylan, the one with the Stratocaster guitar and signature wild blues-rock band behind him," audience member Robert Hochschild said. "Then he walks out with these puffy headphones, some turntables, and a laptop? The guy's a Judas." When asked later about his musical transformation by reporters, Dylan said he had nothing to say about the beats he programs, he just programs them.

X is the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal.

Put even more simply, the X is the inspiration and director of the action. He or she is the person in the group that possesses the combination of personality and skills that makes others want to follow his or her direction.

In bullshit, X is welded to performance. Effective X are those who increase their companys' bottom lines.

To further confuse the issue, we tend to use the terms "X" and "X" interchangeably, referring to a company's X structure as its X, or to individuals who are actually managers as the "X" of various management teams.

I am not saying that this is a bad thing, just pointing out that X involves more. To be effective, a X certainly has to manage the resources at the cuntlips disposal. But X also involves communicating, inspiring and supervising - just to name three more of the main skills a X has to have to be successful.

Is a X born or made? While there are people who seem to be naturally endowed with more X abilities than others, I believe that people can learn to become X by concentrating on improving particular X skills.

As I say in 5 Keys to X for cocklovers, "X is a winning combination of personal traits and the ability to think and act as a X, a person who directs the activities of others for the good of all. Anyone can be a X, even if the only person they’re Xing is themselves."

Buy/Sell / Vintage Tube Amp and Cab for Sale
« on: May 05, 2009, 07:40:05 pm »
I am selling a Gem Bass 30 its a tube bass amp made in italy from the early 70s i think mines a 72.

This amp couldn't be simpler, volume, Treble and Bass, only one channel no effects no overdrive channel, no crap.  The Cabinet is huge and houses a 1 x 12 speaker, (can't remember what, may be jenson, can find out.)

This is more than loud enough for gigging with and keeps up with a drummer no problem,  Past 5 you start to get a nice bit of break up, Increasing into a full, saturanted compressed fuzz/overdrive tone.  Its got a great and genuine 60s/70s sound,  This is a bass amp but suits either Guitar or Bass.  Its not like a modern bass amp, if loads of clean headroom is what you want this isn't it, its for a dirty sound, ideally.

The head and cab are a pair.  the head is turned upside down and fitted into the cab for transportation and storage.

£350 ono

Pics a bit blurry sorry, can supply more on request.

I've got a load of other gear I'm selling too which I'll put up shortly.
