Serious Discussion Forum / Movie Piracy - Your views.
« on: January 16, 2007, 09:19:34 am »
To rehash something I have seen elsewhere,

It is wrong, to buy illegal dvds or to download movies yet a lot of people do it anyway.

For some the choice is made solely for financial reasons - the cost of going to the cinema has risen dramatically over the last few years but is this just a knock on effect of falling profits because of piracy?

For others it is because the cinema is an evil evil place. Personally I despise the cinema. Movies and home entertainment systems are my passion so I should love the cinema right? wrong.

There seems to be no end to the number of childish assholes who manage to pick out the seat behind you EVERY SINGLE TIME - IN EVERY SINGLE CINEMA. Perhaps I am being unreasonable too but I fail to understand why people need to eat at the movies. Popcorn is a cinema institution but nachos with dips?, chips?, crisps?, bumper bags of sweets? etc. I just dont get it. We are in the cinema for usually 2 hours or so with the occasional exception. Can we not go without food for two hours? The endless rattling and crunching in my ear somewhat defeats the object of having 6/7.1 DTS systems.

For me a perfectly good movie can be ruined through a bad cinema experience and because of this my goal in life is to have a room in a house with black out blinds, a HD projector, a 6/7.1 DTS system and a couch.

How do you feel about piracy? Do you care about the effects it has?

Music / Emilie Autumn
« on: December 01, 2006, 10:56:08 am »
I havent seen a thread on her before so I present, for your consideration:

Ms. Emilie Autumn.

Combine the violin mastery of Nigel Kennedy, the voice of an alien Siouxsie/Bowie hybrid, and the looks of a post-apocalyptic Marie Antoinette, and what do you get? Emilie Autumn. The pink-haired princess of "victoriandustrial" has already morphed her way from classically trained violin prodigy to extreme rock performer with the

Check out "God Help Me" and "Swallow" in particular.

I dont know if this has been posted before but search returned nothing.

This site is comedy of the highest order although some people who visit it claim that the whole thing is entrapment, the guys are not paedophiles; just naive and that this kind of work should be left to the police.

Watch and discuss.

Number 6 is my favourite.

General / Halifax phone scams
« on: August 17, 2006, 02:11:45 pm »
Be cautious, I just had a guy phone my house claiming to be from Halifax asking for my security information and when I asked what it was in regards to he said he couldnt tell me unless I gave him my details, I refused and he went in a mood and hung up.

I called Halifax and told them and they have no record of any calls to me today so be alert.

At the risk of sounding racist he was foreign too.

« on: July 30, 2006, 04:53:09 pm »

For those of you who watch lost, how fucking insane is it that on the 19th of November the "numbers" won people alot of money.

4 8 15 16 23 42

Although 42 didnt feature, 24 did. Regardless, this is still pretty fucking wild.

\/ \/ \/ \/ I take exception to that.  :ninja

Ebay has them for about £180 but with roughly £30 P&P and thats without filters in the most part.

Ashe can attest to it being in perfect condition and id be happy to provide some sample photos if anyones interested.

I have all the cables and manuals etc too.

Three guys gays and a little big lady.

Ok so I got into work this morning to an IM from a good friend of mine called Andy. His blatant disgust (carried perfectly in literary form) was not enough to deter my link click joy joy.

What I found changed my life.

This story has everything, Three gay guys, one fat chick, poo, lots and lots of poo, and an attempted overdose (albeit on a harmless herbal remedy  :emo )

Ill leave you with a pic of k-lines toilet, how it finds its way into this story remains a mystery Im not prepared to solve.

Oh, and you will be needing this  http://www.livejournal.com/users/shiroioji/114944.html

If your employer is fine with Poo this is totally work safe.

Who do you guys suggest for a 300/400 gb internal IDE HDD.
Id be well fucked off if I got a shit one and lost that much data.

Hitachi Deskstar are notoriously shit.
Ive never had any problems with Maxtor drives, but Seagate Barracudas are famed for their resilience.
