http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxis7Y1ikIQSo, what do you think? Would this stop you from flying? What do they really hope to achieve from this advert?
They hope that it'll either stop people from flying. Or that it'll encourage them to donate to them, even though they don't actually say on their website. They describe it as "An action".
Now, surely they're not stupid enough to think that tour operators AREN'T doing something about this already. I can only really speak for our company, as I'm not too aware what others are doing, but we've got the dreamliner planned for 2012, which is 20% more carbon efficient. We've taken some of our older (less efficient) planes out of service. We ask customers to donate £1 per person, which we match, when booking our holidays... which is donated to a charity to help with sustainable tourism. Our company have tried to convince the government to put taxi money towards developing a second-generation of bio-fuels. We've taught our pilots to fly in a much more efficient way... such as taxiing with one engine, or taking direct routes slightly slower. Not to mention a whole load of other things we do for sustainable tourism including auditing hotels, with a view to not even selling any hotels which do not co-operate.
Passengers are also charged a government APD tax, which has increased over the past year, and is set to increase AGAIN, and personally, I'm not sure where this money seems to go?

What do you think? Would you do something differently?
