♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ At the stroke of midnight on February 13th this year, you know what time it is? Its business time… and by business… we mean love business.

♥ As the official day of love dawns, we open the Metropolis Chapel of Love. After last year’s success, we once again give you the chance to tie the knot in the Empire, with his holiness, the king of rock n roll… Elvis Presley!

♥ We open at 10.00pm, a couple of great bands onstage, including Detroit Social Club.

♥ Then, from midnight, we transform into the Metropolis Chapel of Love. Expect Elvis live onstage, performing a set of his greatest rock n roll hits, followed by the chance to get onstage and get MARRIED by the king. So find a partner, man, woman or beast, and we’ll see you at the altar…

Some folks getting married at last years Chapel of love...

Saturday 13 Feb : Detroit Social Club & Guests : METROPOLIS : The Empire : 10.30pm : 18+ : £6

Detroit Social Club have been on everyone’s tip sheet for the past 12 months, and having toured with such giants as Razorlight and Primal Scream, the six-piece band are now label mates with The Cure, White Lies and Elbow. All this big wig name dropping should give you an insight into their swaggering rock n roll sound, which lends itself just as much to the heartfelt grooves of Beck or the Beach Boys as it does to modern day indie.

Having been the last band ever to support Oasis they continue to whip up a frenzy of great press. Check out the free download of Black & White at www.detroitsocialclub.net and we’ll see you in the big room from for the first of many cracking Empire gigs this year.

“DSC… harness the power of their forbears but replace the macho swagger with genuine talent.” NME

“Wow. Amazing” Zane Lowe, speechless for once on Radio 1

METROPOLIS?

Metropolis is our slightly-annoying-to-pronounce-yet-ultimately-amazing Clubnight, every Saturday at The Middlesbrough Empire. There are 5 rooms known as Kaboom, Rock Box, The Main Hall and The Lounge, plus a big refurbished first floor that changes each week between Pop Disco, Pink Flamingo and Cherry Jan. Confused? Don’t be! Give it a whirl, have a good explore, and we’re sure you’ll love it. Sometimes, we do bands…
