Title: Young Rebel Set in NME Radar feature
Post by: andy parmley on August 13, 2009, 11:08:21 am

We've been featured in this week's NME radar section with a nice (dark/murky) picture and some kind words written about us.

For anyone who doesnt read the magazine, here it is:

Cheer up, little one.

Luke looks like he's about to stab you all in the neck with a pair of scissors.

Nice one on the article, I passed it round our practise room last night.

In fact paddy had it spot on. We all missed the "estate-agent-look-for-photo-shoot" memo!!

Haha a lot of people say i look miserable at work, i shall heed your advice and do my best to have a more cheery outlook when doing my duties. :thumb

Thank you very much.

We're pretty happy with it, it's definitely a step down the right road anyway.

no bother man. theres really not that much truth-bending in there. i was expecting there to be a little more grim-up-north-esque writing but thankfully he sort've played on it after we made it clear that its really not that much different to anywhere else and that lazy journalism won't be tolerated and that we'd make the poor guy drink a top-shelfer if he printed any shite!!

I'd have said my scrambled egg was just a bit lovlier, but the music was alright yeah.

[edit]
Don't think lovlier is a word, replace with "considerably more lovely". Maybe.

I have to disagree, I think the name is really fresh! It's nice to see a band daring to be different! Makes a change from all the bands nowadays who have "the" at the start of their band name!

Everyone got sick of bands called The Shoes, The liftshaft, The Esculator and thought of something different which turned out to be everyone getting a three word band name which can easily be shortened to initials. Fancy doing that eh?  ;)

Suprised you haven't posted your live review in the NME from last week Andy.

No scanner or anything at the minute but yeh i didnt know what to make of that review. It was really positive right until the last 2 words. Can't say i disagree with it like as i think most music/bands these days sound like something/someone else. Just slightly annoying she had to point it out.

I prefer Billy The Kid... what happened to that?

Some canadian bird uses the same name and got herself signed so we had to rid ourselves of it. And the best we could come up with was something that sounded like a dexy's album rip-off!!

Well she admitted at the start of the review she doesn't really like your style of music so I think taking that into account it's a very positive review.
