Not a clue, but my band are on it (Confined), and pretty high up for some reason.  Confused

Yeah, no idea but we're playing it too.

I'm slightly apprehensive about the whole thing. It seems a bit weird.

My band are playing this.

Not sure who's organising it, but it's an all dayer on Sunday 20th July at The Empire.

They've asked each bands to try and sell 25 tickets, so should be a few people there.

It's running 12pm til 11pm though.

Seemed a bit weird, but we accepted it anyway, never really played anything like this.

They're running them in places like Cardiff and Liverpool aswell, in Barflys.

My thoughts are that; there's a canny few bands on, RED is some form of charity thing so it could be to do with them, no payment will be given due to no-one knowing who the hell is organising it, and they've ordered it by how many myspace friends the bands have.

Each band is expected to sell 25 tickets, and for every ticket they sell they get £1.

Lame as.

Just fancied the gig though, personally.

fair enough if you fancy the gig like,

how much are the tickets?

what if you don't sell any?

whats stopping you selling all 25 tickets for a fiver each and fucking off with the 125 quid?

I'm pretty sure they're £4.

If we don't sell any neither us/the promoter get any money.

It's blatantly cashing in on/ripping off local bands that don't have too many opportunities for live appearances at places like The Empire, but with many local fans/friends.

There's always the chance of playing to no-one, but other than that as all the bands are local, that's pretty much the only major way bands could lose out.

but with a place as big as the empire they'll need to get a decent PA and someone to run it...who pays for that if the bands don't bring enough people? will they be willing to put up loads of dosh for a PA when they're not certain of getting loads of cash?
